Giving to EEB
The Ecology, Evolution, and Behavior program at MSU welcomes contributions. In a time of vast cuts to federal research funding and to higher education, donor support has become even more crucial.
In an article for The Conversation, MSU's Nara Parameswaran, the senior associate dean for research in the College of Human Medicine, painted a stark picture of the impacts the cuts are having both on institutions and individuals. Donations have become a valuable lifeline to combat these disruptions and support the vibrant research community EEB has become.
Your dollars support graduate students through fellowships, travel grants, or direct support of a research project. Please consider giving to one of the existing funds described below, or contact EEB director Elise Zipkin if you are interested in developing a new initiative.
Ways to Give
The Dr. Don Hall Endowed Fund is named for the late zoology professor who served as EEB director from 1989 to 2004. Hall, a freshwater ecologist, played a crucial leadership role in fostering the growth of ecological and evolutionary research and training in his more than three-decade career at MSU. The endowment provides summer support to graduate students via the Don Hall Fellowship in Ecology, Evolution, and Behavior.
The Donald P. and Shelly Garcia Jones Endowment supports research, projects, and analyses of wildlife data that assist with conservation planning and activities. Preference will be given to research and outreach projects that focus on avian population and community dynamics.
